The presence of humic acids, fulvic acids, metallic ions, suspended matter, plankton, weeds, and industrial effluents all contribute to the colour of natural water.

Earlier, it was a general perception that frost is something like snow that falls from the sky onto the Earth and causes cooling of the plant surface leading to freezing and lethal damage. But, with advancement in knowledge, it is now well understood that it is the cooling of a surface to a subzero temperature which leads to solidification of the water vapours present in the air onto it resulting in the formation of a white crystalline layer of ice molecules. The ice so formed further grows into the plant system causing damage to it through intracellular or intercellular freezing.

Global climate change has increased the weather variability across all geographical settings. The transitional regions between the tropics and temperate region are expected to buffer the changes comparatively for a extended duration of time.

Floriculture is the aesthetic branch of horticulture that deals with the cultivation of ornamentals, annuals, biennials and perennial plants as well as with their marketing. It is a very common disease found in all the onion and garlic growing areas. It mostly attacks the bulb as well as the seed crop. The infection or severity of the disease is more in Kharif crop causing 60% yield loss.

Citrus crop includes lime, lemon, sweet orange, mandarin orange, Kamala orange, grapefruit, malta and pomelo etc. The disease which attacks one species of citrus mostly attacks other species also.

Agricultural crops are being affected by a wide range of organisms such as insects, mites, fungi, bacteria etc. Another important and unseen enemy is known as plant parasitic nematodes. The study on nematodes is known as Nematology.

Most of the plant parasitic nematodes affect the root portion of plants except Anguina spp., Aphelenchus spp., Aphelenchoides spp., Ditylenchus spp., Bursaphelenchus cocophilus and B. xylophilus. Nematodes suck the sap of the plants with the help of stylet and causes leaf discolouration, stunted growth, reduced leaf size and fruits, lesions on roots, galls, reduced root system and finally wilting.

Plant parasitic nematodes favour the establishment of secondary pathogens viz., fungi, bacteria, virus etc. The nematodes alter the host in such a way that the host tissue becomes suitable for colonization by the secondary pathogens. Even though the nematodes themselves are capable of causing considerable damage to the crops, their association with other organisms aggravate the disease.

Nematode associated with insects are referred as entomophilic, entomogenous and entomophagous nematodes. Generally they belong to the superfamilies Tylenchoidea, Rhadbitoidea, Oxyuroidea and Mermithoidea of the phylum Nematoda.

Physiological plant disorder is caused by non-pathological conditions such as poor light, weather damage, waterlogging or lack of nutrients affect the operation of the system caused. Physiological condition selected from diseases caused by plant pathogens such as viruses or fungi to distinguish. Although the physiological disorder symptoms may occur such as disease, they can often be prevented by changes in environmental conditions. However, once the nutritional deficiencies of plants showing symptoms, is likely to return that season yield will be reduced.

Tip-burn is the marginal collapse and necrosis of rapidly spreading inner lettuce leaves, at or near the leaf margins. Typically, the condition occurs near harvest, when it may lead to complete crop failure. Early signs include discoloration of the veins and/or the growth of dark brown to black spots near or at the margins of the leaves. The necrotic areas coalesce as the disease progresses, creating a lesion up to several centimeters long.

In the flesh of the fruit, tiny, 2-10 mm (depending on the cultivar) brown blemishes form. Below the surface, the tissue gets black and corky. At harvest or after cold storage, the skin develops depressed patches on the surface. These tend to develop as water-soaked patches on the skin around the calyx. Overall, these patches became darker and sunken than the skin around and developed entirely after one to two months in storage.

In grape growing areas in many parts of the world this illness is a very popular disorder. In this disorder, a bold beer is surrounded by shoot berries, and the name of the hen and of the chicken disorder is like a hen, as bold berry and chicken. The fruit has a sour taste. The signs are the death of rising tips, falling leaves and the fragility of new shoots. Maize is an ideal forage crop grown throughout the country. It is quick growing, high yielding and provides palatable and nutritious forage which can be fed at any stage of growth without any risk to animals. Maize produces good quality herbaceous fodder with high digestibility. On an average, it contains 9-10% crude protein, 60-64% neutral detergent fibre, 38-41% acid detergent fibre, 28-30% cellulose and 23-25% hemi cellulose on dry matter basis when harvested at milk to early-dough stage. It can be fed as green or dry and makes excellent silage.

Moreover to accelerate agricultural development, it is necessary to protect plants breeders’ rights to stimulate investment for research and development for the development of new plant varieties.

The algae associated with the plants belongs to the Order Trentepohliales (Ulvophyceae, Chlorophyta). These are filamentous green algae parasitic to higher plants, generally causing minor diseases characterized by negligible leaf spots, but on certain crops, in moist environments, these algal diseases can cause economic injury to plant leaves, fruits, and stems (Nelson, 2008).

Fruit is a berry, where as Actinidia chinenses a yellow fleshed fruits.

Ber (Ziziphus mauritiana L) ancient fruit of India grown in arid regions, ‘king of arid zone fruits’, thrive well in marginal areas. During severe hot, it shed off its leaves completely and thus conserves moisture by getting rid of transpiration mechanism. Flowering and fruiting mainly take place on secondary and tertiary branches.
